How to Print Filofax Inserts on Mac

I get a lot of questions on how I print my inserts for my planner, so I thought I would show you all how I do it. I have also used this method to print printables that weren't resized and some have worked perfectly while others were a bit skewed, and sometimes the lines were just too tiny to go from A5 to pocket! Anyways, I have been a Mac user for years and have no clue about windows! If you are on Windows, Philofaxy has an excellent tutorial for that here.

Printing Instructions for Mac:

Step 1:  Cut paper to size first (I find this makes everything so much easier!)
Step 2: If you are using Adobe Reader this screen will show then click on "page setup" (if using Preview go to step 5)
adobe print - click on page setup

Step 3: This screen will pop up click on paper size

Step 4: Create a custom paper size by clicking on "Manage Custom Sizes" (unless you have an A5, there should be one set there already)

Step 5: From here Preview and Adobe will be the same; this screen will show just click the "+" sign and label the size as a5, personal, a6, or pocket

from preview

click + sign to add a new size

Step 6: Use these measurements below to input the dimensions in paper size width and height; and make sure the non-printable area are all "0 in"

Inches:
A5 - 5.83″ x 8.27″
Personal - 3.74″ x 6.73″
A6 -  4.13" x 5.83"
Pocket – 3.19″ x 4.72″

Millimeters:
A5 - 148mm x 210mm
Personal - 95mm x 171mm
A6 - 105mm x 148mm
Pocket – 81mm x 120mm

Step 7: Be sure to print "scale to fit"

Step 8: Print x amount of copies of first page (or odd pages first if printing more)

Step 9: Flip and put upright back into printer

Step 10: Print x amount of copies of 2nd page (or even pages)

& that's it! Hope this helped you out! Thanks for reading!!

How To Make DIY Card Holders For Your Pocket Filofax

I am currently using my pocket Filofax as a wallet. Unfortunately it only has two card slots! I was in desperate need of some card holders and with using what I have around the house I made these!

Read on to see how I made them!

Supplies Needed:

- Baseball trading card holders - I have the half size ones from when I used to coupon.  (These can be found at Walmart or office supply stores)
- Scissors
- Washi tape
- Hole puncher
- Marker or pen
- Filofax page with holes punched to use as a guide

Step 1: Cut vertically in half being sure to cut just outside the sealed edge (only thing about this is that the rest would be wasted!)

Step 2: Cut horizontally in half now

It should look like this now:

Step 3: As you can see these already have holes in them which don't match my pocket! So the next step is to Washi tape both sides on that edge.

Step 4: Use a guide to hole punch. These aren't exactly pocket sized, so for every other pocket I would make one on top and one on bottom. I kind of like it this way too so I can see cards behind them too.

Step 5: Use a marker to mark the holes then hole punch (the Washi tape over the plastic makes it easier to punch as well)

Step 6: this is optional but for extra security. Washi tape the outer edge. (Here I folded the tape over but it looked messy so I fixed it and made it better)

Step 7: Put these into your pocket Filofax, one on the bottom, the next on top like this:

Step 8: Put two cards in each slot facing out!

And that's it!! Aren't they cute? They are wide enough to easily pull out and put back in!

Here are some more pictures:

Day on Two Page Filofax Inserts

I have been searching for the perfect daily pages to plan my days. If you follow me on instagram, you might have seen that I have just acquired an A6 Mulberry Planner! It was a great find at the thrift store that I got for only $1.99! It is all leather and I am in love with it!

Anyways, back to the insert pages...I made these pages to check off my daily routine and to categorize all of my "to-dos" by section. It's a lot of sections, but I love it. Today was my first day using it, and I feel so much productive. Printing sucks however, it's a lot of paper to waste...but that's just something I am willing to sacrifice for a productive day!

If you do end up using these I would love to see pictures. Tag me on Instagram @wenduhh_plans or #mswenduhhblog

Color-Coding in my Erin Condren/Kikki-K Planner and a New Way to Use Weekly Squares!

This week I went with a colorful theme for summer. I am also trying to color code using my multi-pen from hello kitty. I found it too hard to try and color code with pens that weren't all in one. These pens are just ballpoint but won't bleed through as much if I drawer thicker and darker (the way the staedtler pens do). I use my ECLP my home planner and love decorating it the most!

Weekly Spread

Color Coding & PL Card Insert
If you look below, you will see that I wrote my color coding on a large project life card. I punched holes in it to fit towards the bottom of my planner and I took scissors to slit the holes a little so I can easily move it from week to week until I am used to the color code. It works wonderfully.

My Sections
Household/to-do's: everything I need to clean/things I need to get done around the house
Kids' Activities: activities I plan for the day for my toddler and baby
Events/activities/holidays: anything we have planned as a family, holidays etc
Appointments: doctors, dentists, work related etc.
Personal projects: everything I do for myself; things I want to do for my blog or planner; organizing or crafting projects or DIY's I'd like to do.
Meals: food we eat daily; grocery shopping lists

Weekly Square Repurposed
What I also love about this week is how I used one of my weekly square stickers and cut it up into 4 strips to make it look like a cute design at the bottom of my squares kind of like washi tape, but any design I want!

Free College Planner Printables + Stickers

I have been out of college for a few years now, but my little brother in law is going off to a university in a few weeks and I thought I should make a college planner printable bundle! I have always found it handy to have my own schedule and worksheets for my classes. Here I have created several files for you all in all sizes including a full "8.5x11" too! This wouldn't really be ideal for a pocket sized planner, but I included it anyhow. Please download what you need down below.

If you do end up using these I would love to see pictures. Tag me on Instagram @wenduhh_plans or #mswenduhhblog

In the class schedule, I have a time blocked schedule that you can fill in/color code. Towards the bottom is the class information such as where and when (I always liked seeing it in the "MWF1000-1050" way in addition to the time block).

In the course info, you can write your professor's office hours, contact info and any classmates you may want contact info for missed homework/assignments/notes.

In the textbooks printable, you can keep track of all of the textbooks you need for each class, and if you bought it or ordered online.

There is also a weekly assignment worksheet, so you can stay on top of your homework and always remember when you have a test, paper due, or anything else!

Finally, I also included more planner stickers for you, except these are all geared towards school, specifically college. Now you can remind yourself of any quizzes, homework, midterms, papers,  & when there's no class, when you should be reading, writing that paper, or studying.

How to Cut Washi Tape Perfectly & Easily Without Scissors!

Ever wonder how some people get their Washi perfectly lined up in a square or just cut so straight and not hanging out of the box or anything? I used to wonder too. Someone on the Facebook group-we love ec - asked this same question. And that's where I learned this clever trick!

All you will need is your Washi tape and your EC ruler! Or any plastic ruler or laminated edge.

No scissors needed! Every time I use a scissor my tape ends up cutting diagonally!

Step 1: line up your Washi where you would like it

Step 2: place your ruler's edge to the line where you'd like to cut the Washi

Step 3: hold your Washi close to the edge and pull upwards to rip it against the edge

Step 4: admire your perfectly straight cuts!

Hope that helps you out in decorating your pages quickly and easily!!

Happy planning!
